Communication Tips – Key to success

In every relationship, whether being in love, friendship, business, employment, etc, all the parties must be aware of all expectation for whatever situation that arise. This is to mostly prevent any misunderstanding, as well as making sure that there is a great rapport between you and the other person.

Communication Tips – Follow up process

I often repeat something that I learned from other leaders on my journey, “Money is in the messenger, and the fortune is in the follow up”.

Most people will buy from you after several exposures to what you are doing and offering. Equally, your existing clients will do what they are supposed to do as your client after you set the tone, give them guideline, and follow up with them.
Some people might require a couple of follow up and a bit of tough love to actually move the needle to where they want to go.

Therefore, it is very important to set the follow up meeting at the end of the current session so you, and your client or prospect, can pencil it down and be ready for it ahead of time.

Communication Tips – 2 strikes and out

It is inevitable that you will encounter some situation where your prospect, or client, says they’ll show up and won’t, or ask you to postpone. However, you can prevent that to happen by setting the tone from the get go.

To set the tone, you simply let them know that they will have 1 or 2 chances over the course of your relationship, depending on the length of your encounter.

For example, if you are a makeup artist and she postpones the trial once, then you can let her know that next time she isn’t showing up, the trial will be charged and will have to be rearranged as a new booking fee. This avoids cancellations.

Communication Tips – Have a written contract

Of course, the best way to solidify the policies, rules, and boundaries you are putting in place is by creating a contract that your client signs and returns to you. This way you have a backup showing that you agreed on the terms, and it won’t be a surprise if you charge them for a no-show, for example.

Communication Tips – Conclusion

Being in charge of your business process will position you as an authority of trust, and people will believe that you know what you are doing.
