I am totally with you on that one but, unfortunately, the platform does not allow you to do that. However, I have good news since you can make your way around it.

In this Episode 103, I’m going to share with you the way I actually manage to plan my weekly post and have them ready head for my Facebook profile to be published.

Social Media Management How to plan and schedule your Facebook profile posts ahead – Episode 103

As you know, with every Episode I like to EMPOWER you with a useful resource, that you can use to have more success, and essentially create more of what you love with less stress.

This week, since we’re talking about attraction marketing tips, I’ve put together a guide titled 7 Automation Tools Guide.
This will help you build a bigger business while saving so much time.

You can have access to it by clicking the yellow button above, and it will come to your email inbox immediately!

Social Media Management – Trello

It would be so awesome to have Facebook allowing automation on our profiles, but we’ve got to focus on what we have control over.

Right now, what we have control over is the way we can simplify our system as much as possible. the simplest method I found is to use a Trello board.

It won’t automate the publishing but you will be close to it. Let’s dive into it together.

Social Media Management – Get started

As for any platform, you gonna have to create your own account with your email address and a password.

Once you’ve created your account you will notice that there is a tab called “Boards” which is where you are going to create your first board.

When clicking on “create a new board” you will be prompted to do the following:

  • Add Board title
  • choose if board is private or public
  • Pick a photo or color
  • Start with a template or your own

Social Media Management – Trello “List”

After creating your account and your board, it is now time to put the layout of your board together.

Trello has specific names for features starting with “List” and “Card”.
A “list” is like a column, which you can create as many of them as you want.

In this section, I have created a “list/column” for each day of the week from Monday through Sunday. I titled them with the name of the corresponding day and the type of post I am sharing on that day.
ie. 1st list/column is titled Monday – Motivation and MMM (Makeup Marketing Monday); Tuesday – Blog post; Wednesday – Story post …

The reason for laying it out this way is so you can have an overview of your Facebook Profile Post planning much better and clearer.

Social Media Management – Trello “Card”

Now, you have what’s called a “card” which is like a tab within the columns you’ve created. Again, you can create as many “cards” as you like within each column.

In any given column, click on “add a card” then type what you want to call it. I typically titled them with the type of post that it will be or with the action that is required (Use FB background; pick a pic; Live…) then click on “ADD”.

Social Media Management – Post creation and scheduling

Now that your card is created, just hover it and click on it to open it up. Do not click on the pencil icon as this is simply to edit the name of your card.

After opening your card, you will have a pop up appear with many sections inside it. Let’s go through them together:

Description: This is where I am writing the content of my post, just like I would be writing it on Facebook directly, with the emojis, etc.

Attachment: You can see this tab on the right column. I use this feature to attach the picture I chose for this specific post, so I can remember.
Pro Tip: Do not just copy/paste the photo from Trello to FB when the time has come to publish your post, but rather take the pic from your album again. Otherwise, that photo on your FB post will be linked to Trello if anyone clicks on it.

Due Date: In this tab, located on the right column too, you can schedule the date and time you want this post to be posted on your Facebook Profile.
Also, you can set a “Due Date Reminder”, and save.

Watch: If you scroll down on the right column, you will see this tab called “watch”. Click it if you want to receive a notification of any changes in this card, as well as for the “Due Date Reminder”, as this is how you can remember to copy/paste your post from Trello to FB, since it is not automated.

Social Media Management – Publish your post

Here we are… You have set, and put everything together.

The only thing to do is to fill your board in with all your posts, which I tend to do once a week, usually on the weekend, and get the whole next week ready.

When this is all done, you just need to wait for the the notification reminders, come into your Trello, and copy/paste the post onto your Facebook profile. CONGRATS!

Social Media Management – Conclusion

There you have it. You are all good to go. Remember, this system cannot automate the publishing but this is as close as you will get for Facebook profile posts since Facebook does not allow automation on profile.
