Business Tips – Don’t fool yourself

It is bound to happen that you will have people not do much, if anything at all.

However, you can reduce the number of quitters, and increase the ratio of your team members getting to work. This starts with you and how you pave the way.

Let’s talk about it…

Team Building Tips – Prime them beforehand

Something I learnt many years ago is to make sure to set my expectations right from the get go.

What I mean by this is that you are best for yourself, and for your new teammate, to make sure everyone is on the same page.
To do so, I would typically make my newbie be aware that I will 100% support them in their business but that I will not build it for them.

Also, I make sure to collect my teammates’ goals from the very start and ask them how serious they are about their goals.

Once this is clarified, I have a transparent and honest conversation with them letting them know what it takes to build a business. Meaning that there are some ups and downs that are bound to happen. It’s NOT easy!

Knowing this now, I ask them how they want me to communicate with them when the down times appear: “Reach out to you to motivate; Leave you alone; or what would you like me to do”.

The priming phase allows you to honest, and also get the permission to give some “tough love” when the tough times come up.

Team Building Tips – Productive monthly meeting

It is very important to keep in contact with your team, and show them that you are the leader they want to look up to.

One way you can do this is by having a monthly meeting with your team so you can help them with what they need.

Every single month, I give my team a google form to fill in with their questions prior to our meeting, so we can immediately get into what they need by answering their questsions.

Also, I get an interesting training ready to help them grow their business, as well, and make sure we take action right there and then to move the needle further.

Team Building Tips – Create excitement

Another way to keep your team engaged is to create Contests and challenges.

Most people love when there is something to fight for and to win. It truly helps get them motivated.

Equally, you could open those challenges to your audience so it involves more people and create a buzz. For example, I have a few challenges I run each year that includes: Goal Setting Challenge; Facebook Profile Challenge; Leads Generation Challenge…

The more people the bigger impact and eye balls on you and your team, while giving your teammates a huge boost.

It is all about setting expectations sooner than later and be creative on how to keep the positive energy flowing effectively, as well as consistently within your team.
