Power Of Habit – It has to be built up

Habits are not something that we get handed at birth, or have inside ourselves naturally. Habits are formed through a repetition of actions over a period of time.

Once the habit is well in place then it becomes second nature, just like commuting from your home to work, which you most likely do on an autopilot.

However, you can always remove a habit from your system, by learning new healthy ones. To do so it is always best to equip yourself with the best tools. Let’s talk about it.

Power Of Habit – Community

Being part of something bigger than ourselves always brings some elements of motivation, to reach new level.

Also, having a group of people to be able to contact when needed to be lifted up, is another valuable point for being part of a community.

Plus, if you are part of a community that is active at doing what you are supposed to be doing yourself, then it will motivate you further as you won’t want to be left behind.

Power Of Habit – Accountability

Such a powerful, yet very underused tool!

Being accountable to someone for what you set yourself to do means that, you are going to report to this person, or group, whatever you’ve done, or not, at a specific day and time.

Personally, I had to find an accountability partner that would point at me for not doing things (so my ego thinks) I said I would do. This accountability partner, you might have heard me saying it before, is YOU, my audience!

For example I sometimes say, on my Facebook/IG stories that I am going to wake up at 5am and show up then to show that I hold on to my words It works wonders for me.

Another way to be kept accountable is by having a coach, which is very effective if you have a great focused coach.

Power Of Habit – Personal development

Personal development is HUGE! Tuning into my personal development each and every single day is a must, as I recognise that without growth (books, podcasts, seminars, coaching…) I would not be where and who I am today. Period.

If you keep the habit of reading, at least, a few pages of a good book, listening to something inspirational and lifting, or watching something, then you will never remain too long in pity party mode, and will get back up much faster.

A great book that you can put your hands on is the 7 Habits of High Effective People by Stephen Covey.

Power Of Habit – Routine

Keeping the habit of a daily routine is, first healthy, second crucial to your success.

Having a diary where all your daily tasks are penciled down, reminds your mind to be present, and show up when supposed to.

Power Of Habit – Conclusion

Even if you think, and are aware of some habits that don’t currently serve you, you can, and have the power to change them with new healthy ones.

Keep working on your mind, your actions, and make sure to use the right tools, surround yourself of the right people, to build your new self in the process.
