Did you know that sharing, on your social medias, the name of your network marketing company, and/or the products, can actually hurt your business?
For many years, I was told to plaster my Facebook with with the products and the name of the company I represented. And it kind of made sense at the time because I didn’t know any better.
However I was not feeling comfortable doing so, because it made me feel salesy and really not appealing. Which my business and personal image suffered from. Luckily I learned the right way and that changed everything.
This is why, in this Episode 29, I am sharing with you the reasons why you don’t want to share your Link on social medias.

Network Marketing Tip – Do NOT share your link
Have you ever realized that people would click and interact on posts that are generic, funny, quotes, about holidays, but when it comes to posts featuring your products or company’s name there are crickets…?
So, as you guessed, the one thing NOT to do is sharing your replicated website link, the company’s name or showcasing product on your walls.
There are a few reasons for the above statements, which I am explaining below.
Network Marketing Reason #1 – Visibility
Social media platforms’ interests is to keep people on their platform and sell to their audience. For this reason, if we talk about Facebook for example, they’ve put in place what we call Algorithms. And you are most likely aware of those since it a regular topic.
One of the aspect is that they will show your content, even if very good, to less people when you add an external link that is not related to their platform. Especially from Facebook personal profiles.
If you are working from a page then it is slightly different because you can pay to create adds and so, you make the platform happy no matter what since you are giving them money.
Network Marketing Reason #2: Tracking
Another hick with sharing your link, products, and company’s name on Facebook is that you have no idea of whom is interested, or not, in what you are offering unless they contact you directly.
Even if they click on your link you have no way to reach out to them and figure out how you can help them since you can not know who has clicked on your link.
Which means that you might be loosing lots of opportunity
Network Marketing Reason #3: Self Research
Let’s just take a moment here and evaluate our normal human being instinct.
If you see a link that a friend is posting on their wall and you don’t know that brand, what will you do. Are you going to contact your friend or check on Google first. Most people tend to do the latter. Weird I know…
What is painful in that process is that, again, you won’t know that your friends are doing they own “research”, and most likely they won’t contact you because they found something wrong that someone said online which might not even be true. But still you lost the person’s interest in what you have to offer.
Network Marketing Reason #4: It stuck with you
Now this is very interesting and, definitely, not in you advantage!
I have changed company several times in my network marketing career, and used to do all the above in the early stage of being involved in the industry. Because I didn’t know any better since it not taught inside most companies out there. They usually encourage people in the field to share and blast on their social media the name of the company and products all over.
Since I initially followed these recommendation, some people have created an association between me and the company I was with. The craziest part is that even 3 years after leaving my prior company, some people were still asking me how I was doing in the particular business.
For this one reason alone, of not knowing what will happen and when you might move on, it is in your highest interest to brand yourself rather than the company you represent.

Network Marketing Tips – Conclusion
It is so much more powerful, fun, and relatable to brand yourself than showcasing the company you are representing everywhere.
You are the brand and you are what people will make a decision to buy from or not. When people associate you with a brand you represent they see you as the brand rather than you.
Now, I hear you, you might ask “HOW” do I then talk about my business and product if I can not share it online freely. You have a point and I get it, since I was wondering the same at first, although I knew that sharing my link on my Facebook was killing my views and visibility.
