Mindset hacks – How To keep motivated even when you are not

Is getting or keeping motivated challenging for you at times?

Is it really that you aren’t motivated or that your focus isn’t wired as it should?

What I have realized in my own personal experience is that when we put our mind into the right frame and tune the focus on the right channel, things become much easier.

In this Episode 85, I am sharing with you 3 mindset hacks that help me do the things even when the motivation of wanting to do them is long gone.

Mindset hacks – It is a habit

Like anything, conditioning and tricking our mind to do what we truly want to do is a habit to put in place.

With the right strategy and tools, you can absolutely achieve wonders in terms of creating your own reality.

Mindset hacks – Be, Do, Have

This is a huge mindset shift that I made after learning about it a while ago, and believe me it is unbelievable what a difference it makes in how motivated you can be.

I actually learned this concept from the book Think & Grow Rich that you can check out (if you haven’t yet) HERE

Most people tend to focus on what they want to have first rather than what is required of them to Be and DO, to acquire what they wish to receive.
In turn, this means that they do not think that to get something different they have to become the person “qualified” to get it.

It is the exact reason why the thinking process must be reversed into “Be, Do, Have” rather than “Have, Do, Be”.

An example could be someone saying when they’ll have time and money they’ll start creating content on social media so they can be visible online.

Whereas it should be the other way around: When they’ll be visible online by creating content and monetize it then they will make money and start gaining time back.

Mindset hacks – Activity Goals

Essentially, what we previously just talked about is to be focus toward Activity goals rather than on the goal itself.

this is a hack that really helps me to not get hung up into the mindset of giving up to quickly and be demotivated as a result.

For instance, instead of setting myself a goal on how many “YESs” I want to get in a day, I shifted my focus towards how many people I want to talk to about my business and product daily.

When you are focusing on what you have control over, it tends to elevate the level of self motivation, because you are unconsciously telling your subconscious that you can achieve it and track it better.

Then you create a ratio after several “YESs” you receive vs how many conversations you had to have. Now you roughly know how many people you need to talk to about your business and product to have whatever amount of “YESs”. But still focusing on the activity, thus you alway feel motivation to go for the activity no matter what the outcome is.

Mindset hacks – Accountability

This is absolutely HUGE!

If nothing else works then you must use this way for you to be compelled to stick to what you told yourself to do, and this is by having someone to report to on a regular basis.

It could be a friend, family member, colleague business partner, a coach, an audience…

Many of my clients love this aspect of my coaching style because they often say that if they would’ve been on their own then they would’ve given up on themselves long ago.

However, your accountability partner does not even need to know that they are your accountability partner…How about that, heh!?
Let me explain…

My blogs are always coming out on Mondays, then on Thursdays I am coming up on FB Live at 8pm to discuss the topic of the blog. Because I have condition my audience this way, they are expecting me, and so I feel compelled not to let them down.

Another example, I sometime go to bed too late but still need to wake up the next morning early, so instead of risking to snooze and miss the wakeup call, I go into my story let my audience (by putting the clock Gif) that I’m off to bed but will turn up the next day at the time I said I’d wake up, and post on my story again.

Yes, people might not pay attention, but there is always someone watching you… Therefore, your subconscious not wanting to look like a fool will make sure to be turning up.

Mindset hacks – Conclusion

All it is required is to put in place what works for you that tricks the mind enough so you can do what you set yourself to do, even if the motivation isn’t there anymore. By human nature we will never be all the time motivated and so it is up to us to find what works

However, the mindset hacks I shared with you today are the ones that work best for me.
