You probably heard many times that growing your list is very important to have a successful business. If you never been told so, you now have 😉
People are the lifeblood of your business, but having your following only on social media is not enough. This is where the email list comes in and is essential for better control.
Let’s now dive in the reasons why.
List Building – Social Media is not your’s
As much of a blessing it is to have access to social media platforms and be able to build a following on them, we always have to remember that they are not our properties.
In fact, if any of the social media platforms you use decide to shut down for whatever reason, or is blowing up, then all your content and followers vanish with them.
On the other side having your following on emails, you always have control over this list of yours and no one will take them away from you.
List Building – Share whatever you want in emails
Another aspect to look into is the censorship that is happening all over social medias, which can sometime limit you in talking about your business and offer your products and services freely. Especially if you do not pay for any adds.
Building and email list also means that you can interact in however way and about whatever suits you to your audience.
Another point is that you can also share the name of your company and products freely without feeling like your leads will go anywhere. You are the one communicating the info to them not google or anybody else.
List Building – Keep in touch
Do not think by any means that I don’t like social media, in fact, I love it and firmly believe in building your brand on those platforms. Yet you will have much more control over your email list rather than social media.
Having said that, emails can also be a great tool to communicate your latest blogs, Facebook lives, promotions, etc.
In fact, I definitely use my email autoresponder to set my weekly blogs and Facebook lives announcements so they are sent to my audience automatically each week.
List Building – Conclusion
The very essential point to remember is that you’ve got to protect your list of contact you worked so hard in building, and that email list building is the best way to have control over this much better than social media alone.
