Going straight to the point, going Live on any social media platform is what will propel your business much faster.
Having said that, I completely understand the nerve wracking that this can be to press the Live button. I’ve been there, it wasn’t pretty, yet it was so worth it and became addictive to be honest HAHA.
However, I wish someone would’ve taught me how to do it write at the time in so many ways… Let’s get into how to remove, or at least reduce, the nervousness for you to go Live.
Social Media Marketing – Shift your focus point
Something that is inevitable is to feel super out of place if being too self-centred. This goes with anything!
What helped me feel confortable going Live, and also being accountable to go Live regularly is to remove myself from the equation. How do you do this?
You simply shift your focus from being on you to be on your audience, their needs, wants, and desire. You are a messenger to what the solution they are looking for.
If you truly are of service to others then this is going to be a game changer for you, your focus, your commitment to go Live, thus for your entire business.
Social Media Marketing – Notes are your best friends
A typical reason why people tend to stress over going Live is that they don’t really know what to share with their audience. Or that they will forget what they had planned to share.
Let me tell you right now, there is nothing wrong about having notes or bullet points to keep you on track. If anything, it makes you look serious about the fact that you truly want to deliver without forgetting anything. Look at all the TV presenters, motivational speakers… they have Q cards or prompters to keep them on track. Heck, even the Queen of England has her Christmas or any other speech scripts ready ahead that she reads from.
You are only human! So be confident and trust that having notes will make you feel and look better.
Social Media Marketing – Be transparent with your audience
Tell them you are nervous…and that you aren’t an expert
Now… Are you concerned that people watching you Live or on a replay notice your nervousness, and that they might be very critical?
The best way to diminish the presence of a big PINK ELEPHANT is to mention the fact that there is a big pink elephant in the room so people know it’s there, but then don’t pay attention to it anymore.
So, a great way to tackle that nervousness and overcome it is by expressing it. Telling people something like “Hey guys, thanks for hoping live or replay, I must admit I am super nervous as it is my very first time, or first in a long time since, going Live so please bare with me.”
Trust me when I say that people will come your side to support you just because of that! ?
